That’s according to renowned Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who tweeted that the Cupertino-based tech giant is about to leave. Conversion of iPhone 14 production lines to create iPhone 14 Pro.
It could also be a sign that the iPhone 14 models aren’t necessarily selling as well as expected, so Apple is willing to bet big on the Pro.
According to Kuo, Apple has reportedly increased iPhone 14 Pro production by 10%.Most suppliers are expected to see an increase in orders in the coming weeks.
“Due to high demand for iPhone 14 Pro models, my recent survey shows that Apple has asked Hon Hai to shift production lines from iPhone 14 to iPhone 14 Pro models, which will help improve Apple’s product/API mix in 4Q22.says Kuo.

Due to strong demand for iPhone 14 Pro models, my recent survey indicates that Apple has asked Hon Hai to switch its iPhone 14 production line to iPhone 14 Pro models, which will help improve Apple’s product mix/iPhone ASP in 4Q22 in— 郭明錤 (Ming-Chi Kuo) (@mingchikuo) September 19, 2022
“Based on the production line conversion rate, this equates to an estimated 10% increase in 4Q22 iPhone 14 Pro model shipments. Only a few component supplier order changes reflect Hon Hai’s production line conversion (eg Samsung Display). I expect most suppliers to also receive increased order demand for iPhone 14 Pro models from Apple in the coming weeks.“.
One of the reasons for getting the iPhone 14 Pro and not the standard model is the dynamic island, which is exclusive to the Pro models – the iPhone 14 and its bigger brother are both controversial, but Apple is expected to bring the dynamic island to all models starting with the iPhone along the lines of 15.
